Compelling Points have been made across various writers and bloggers, discussing how this relationship will impact boththe status of AI and managers, leading into the ways it may effect a manager’sday of work. Throughout various businesses, managers haveoften come across tasks that may not be of most importance, but still must getdone. Administrative purposes within a company is often where many managersspend a decent amount of time within a company. This is somewhere artificialintelligence can come into play. In a business Harvard review, various managerswere interviewed on what goes on in their normal work day. “According to the survey, managers across alllevels spend more than half of their time on administrative coordination andcontrol tasks” (Amico 2016). This can be tedious and rather time consuming workfor managers, and many believe they should take their time elsewhere. Withartificial intelligence, this administrative work can be left to AI. Saving moretime for the managers to focus on more important things to better the company. “Themanagers we surveyed see such change in a positive light: Eighty-six percentsaid they would like AI support with monitoring and reporting” (Amico 2016). Withartificial intelligence, AI can do this administrative work, resulting inmanagers to have more efficient workdays, along with getting more useful tasksdone for their organization or company. With this gained efficiency, managerswill be able to propel their companies in bigger strides of progress.
Another point in writing I found very persuasive is that AI will change how management goes about their marketing strategies. A manager of a company is responsible to ensure their company is properly getting their ideas and products out to the public. It can be very helpful when making purchasing recommendations of certain products. This is so beneficial to sales within a company and generating a good source of products sold (Mills 2018). Having purchase recommendations generated by AI can help a manager spread his product throughout social media and the news. “This software is beneficial because it can help to increase a company’s overall sales by creating a personalized shopping experience for customers” (Mills 2018). By artificial intelligence doing this it will increase the likelihood of buying a product. Having artificial intelligence play specific role in this process generally helps managers, changing certain tasks they may have to do if artificial intelligence wasn’t in play
Some points throughout writing I disagreed with related to some saying that a managers and other workers can completely lose their jobs from artificial intelligence. Many writers emphasized that AI will take away tasks, but not jobs, and that there is no fear in artificial intelligence making it harder to get a job. Humans created AI therefore they can control it. Although AI may alter some jobs a manager may perform, it doesn’t mean they will take over human managers and other workers. “Machine learning technology can transform many jobs in the economy, but full automation will be less significant than the re-engineering of processes and the reorganization of tasks” (Mckendrick 2018). AL will take away jobs that are not necessary for humans to do, which are the “tasks” that were mentioned. Managers of companies will use AI for efficiency and organization throughout their organizations. The thought of AI taking over management is rather extreme being that it can be so influential with the help of humans. Rather than some writers fearing the takeover of Artificial intelligence, they should view the new age of AI as beneficial to management across many workplaces.
